Phone System doesn’t let office people run it (Mitel Socket Connection Failed)

There is a known problem with the way Mitel and Microsoft work together that will occasionally require intervention. You will only know this has happened when the front office people tell you that they can no longer access the Mitel database.

From our Mitel person at Kidwell, “I got it logged in, this will keep happening, you will have to uninstall Microsoft access DB and then re-install the Mitel software, you can cancel it after it installs Microsoft Access, let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!”

  1. Uninstalling Access is required.
  2. Reinstalling the Mitel software (there is an icon on the desktop of the machine in the rack where the Mitel system programming software is installed) will fix the problem for x number of days. Say yes to all of the installation questions. You might have to run this as an administrator (right click)

Note: there is a bulletin that said that reinstalling Access 2010 is sufficient, but I didn’t have luck with this the one time I tried it: right click windows icon, Apps and Features, Microsoft Access DB Engine 2010, Modify, Reinstall or Repair, Reinstall.
