Big Blue Button (for students)

Big Blue Button is a lot easier than Zoom.

  1. Log into Canvas
  2. Go to your class
  3. Click on the Big Blue Button link right under the home button at the top of the menu.
  4. If it’s the first time you’ve used Big Blue Button, you will have to give it permission to use your device’s camera and microphone.

If you get stuck, there is a video tutorial:

Some students have said that they don’t like seeing the reaction animations. You can turn reaction animations off like this:

  1. Click on the vertical ellipse menu in the upper right of Big Blue Button
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Turn off Animations
